New fabrication line for NelsonPineLVL
Nelson Pine Industries has installed a new automated fabrication line to add value to its Laminated Veneer Lumber (LVL).
NelsonPineLVL is increasingly being used in multi-storey buildings and there is potential for more development in this area. The new Hundegger K2I and accompanying Anthon saw allow the company to produce posts and beams that are pre-labelled for construction when they leave the Richmond site, adding to the capacity to grow the market for LVL.
The Anthon saw is the biggest ever made at the company’s Germany headquarters. It is capable ripping 12m x 1250mm x 300mm billets for processing into 12m x 300mm x 300mm for processing on the Hundegger K2I.
Brightwater Engineering Ltd carried out the preparatory work during the summer shutdown, installing the Windsor extraction system that will carry sawdust to the LVL filtration plant.
